First Spanish company accredited by ENAC

GENOMICA was the first private company accredited by the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC) according to the requirements of the ISO/IEC 17.025 standard for DNA testing in visa applications in cases of family reunification, and the only one that can certify the analysis for stem cells and in suspension.

ENAC Accreditation

GENOMICA is the first Spanish private laboratory accredited by the Spanish National Accreditation Body (ENAC) for the “Identification and genetic-forensic analysis of human tissues and fluids”, being also the only one that includes in its scope of accreditation the analysis of stem cells, adipocytes, and cells in suspension, according to ISO 17025.

This accreditation guarantees the technical competence and reliability of results in laboratories that perform DNA and identification tests.

CNUFADN Certification

Since 2010, GENOMICA is in possession of the certificate issued annually by the National Commission for the Forensic Use of DNA (CNUFADN). This document, granted and regulated by the Ministry of Justice, accredits laboratories that perform DNA analysis while providing legal certainty to the results obtained.

To obtain this title, one of the indispensable requirements is to be in possession of the accreditation certificate issued by the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC) as described in Article 8 of the “ROYAL DECREE 1977/2008 for the evaluation procedure of DNA analysis laboratories”. The regulations applied for the creation of this commission are based on the requirements established in:

      • Article 8 of the ROYAL DECREE 1977/2008 regulating the procedure for the evaluation of DNA analysis laboratories.
      • The UNCADN Agreement on laboratory accreditation and quality control approved by the UNCADN plenary session on 21/07/2009.
      • COUNCIL OF EUROPE FRAMEWORK DECISION 2009/905/JHA on accreditation of forensic service providers carrying out laboratory activities.
