SPANISH NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR THE FORENSIC USE OF DNA (CNUFADN) CERTIFICATION
As of 2010, GENOMICA has been in possession of the certificate issued annually by the Spanish National Commission for the Forensic Use of DNA (CNUFADN). This document, granted and governed by the Spanish Ministry of Justice, certifies the laboratories which conduct DNA analyses whilst also providing legal safeguards for the outcomes of these tests.
One of the indispensable requirements for obtaining this certification is to be in possession of the accreditation certification issued by the Spanish National Accreditation Organization (ENAC), precisely as described under Article 8 of “ROYAL DECREE 1977/2008 for the procedure for evaluating DNA analysis laboratories”.
The regulations applied for setting up this commission are based on the requirements set forth under:
- Article 8 of ROYAL DECREE 1977/2008 governing the procedure for the evaluation of DNA analysis laboratories.
- The Resolution passed by the Spanish National Commission for the Forensic Use of DNA (CNUFADN) at its plenary session held on July 21, 2009.
- COUNCIL OF EUROPE FRAMEWORK DECISION 2009/905/JAI on the accreditation of forensic services providers which carry out laboratory activities.
